The Bridge

At present, there are more than 13 million Jews worldwide. Israel's Jewish population now numbers over 6 million, thus becoming the largest Jewish community in the world.

According to the tenet which states that "All of Israel are responsible for each other," we established "The Bridge" in order to connect Jews in Israel with Jews in the Diaspora. "The Bridge" is a two-way street which enables each side to both contribute and benefit.

• Educational trips to Israel are an important and essential component in building the Jewish identity of the youth in the Diaspora. By bringing them on these trips to Israel, "The Bridge" contributes to strengthening this identity.
• In the Jewish schools system around the world there is an acute shortage in educational personnel. In Israel, however, there is a large team of educators who are willing to take part in this important mission and who can assist significantly in dealing with this challenge. "The Bridge" assists Jewish organizations outside of Israel to gain access to this large, high-quality pool of professional Israeli educators.
• There are over 30,000 non profit organizations in Israel, which focus on public education, welfare and health. In the Diaspora there are thousands of foundations that grant, each year, millions of dollars to organizations around the world. Each foundation has its own criteria and designated objects for distributing its grants. "The Bridge" assists Israeli non profit organizations to connect to suitable foundations overseas, thus enabling their activities to benefit from their funds.

בעולם חיים כיום כ- 13 מיליון יהודים במדינות רבות. אוכלוסייתה היהודית של
מדינת ישראל עברה את רף ה- 6 מיליון והפכה בכך להיות הריכוז היהודי הגדול בתבל.

מתוך נאמנות לכלל האומר כי "כל ישראל ערבים זה בזה" הקמנו את "הגשר" על מנת לחבר בין יהדות ישראל לבין יהדות התפוצות. "הגשר " הינו דו כיווני ומאפשר לכל צד
לתרום ולהיתרם.

· ביקורים בישראל מהווים מרכיב חשוב והכרחי בבניית הזהות היהודית של נוער התפוצות. בהבאתם לטיולים חינוכיים בארץ תורם "הגשר" לחיזוק זהות זאת.

· בעולם היהודי בתפוצות קיים מחסור חמור במחנכים להוראת מקצועות העברית והיהדות. בישראל קיים מאגר גדול ואיכותי של אנשי חינוך המוכנים להירתם למשימה החינוכית החשובה הזאת והיכולים לסייע בצורה משמעותית להתמודדות עם המחסור בחו"ל. "הגשר" מסייע למוסדות יהודיים בחו"ל להגיע למאגר גדול ואיכותי של אנשי מקצוע אלו.

· בישראל רשומות כיום כ- 30,000 עמותות הפועלות כמוסדות ללא כוונות רווח ולתועלת הציבור. עמותות אלו פועלות במגוון תחומים : חינוך , רווחה ובריאות. בחו"ל קיימות אלפי קרנות המחלקות מדי שנה מיליונים רבים של דולרים לעמותות ברחבי העולם. לכל קרן יש את הקריטריונים והיעדים המוגדרים לחלוקת הכסף. "הגשר" מסייע לעמותות בישראל להגיע לקרנות בחו"ל המתאימות להן ולקבל מהן מלגות לחיזוק פעילותן.
