Here is our proposed 10 day itinerary for an unforgettable family trip:
 
Day 1 : Jerusalem
  • Explore the Old City of Jerusalem and its many different faiths
  • Explore the underground excavations in the Western Wall tunnels and step back 2000 years into the past
  • Wander through the markets of the Old City’s Muslim and Christian Quarters and get a flavor of an entirely different side of Jerusalem today
  • Explore some of the highlights on the Mt. of Olives including the Church of all Nations in Gethsemane (where Jesus was arrested by Roman troops) and the Pater Nostra Church (where Jesus taught the Lord’s prayer to his followers) and/or Dominus Flevit (where Jesus wept over Jerusalem).
  • End the day with a visit to the place where Jerusalem began in the City of David. Here you see the site where King David built his palace and the spot where King Solomon was crowned. You will see archeological proof the first destruction of Jerusalem in 586 bce and you will walk through a 2,700 water system build by King Hezakiah. Bring a flashlight and be prepared to get wet.

Day 2 :Jerusalem
Visit Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial and museum. Explore the amazing collection at the Israel Museum. This includes the option to visit the Dead Sea scrolls and much more of Israel’s incredible archeological treasures.See the amazing Sound and Light Show at the City of David  
Overnight: Jerusalem 

 
Day 3 : Judea
Start the day at Rachel Tomb in Beth Lechem. Visit the Herodion. Visit the center of Gush Etzion.
Continue to Hebron and visit the Machpela Tomb  
Overnight: Jerusalem
 

Day 4 : Tel Aviv
Enjoy a late breakfast and then take a tour around Jaffa in the mid-morning
Visit Independence Hall where the State of Israel was declared on May 14, 1948
Then spend a leisurely afternoon at the famed Nachalat Binyamin craft market and pick out some treasures to take home.
Enjoy a later dinner at the unique ‘Blackout’ restaurant (included) where the entire meal takes place in the dark. http://www.nalagaat.org.il/blackout.php
Overnight: Tel Aviv
 
 
Day 5 : Dead Sea
Check out of hotel and depart Tel Aviv.
Travel to Dead Sea. Check in at hotel.
Exploe the area and enjoy spa treatment at hotel.

Day 6 : Masada
Rise early for the pre-dawn climb up the Snake path to Masada. Watch the sunrise from the peak and then tour this amazing site. Descend via foot or cable car and return to your hotel for a welcome breakfast
Relax through the morning in the hotel taking advantage of the facilities including the private beach on to the Dead Sea, spa and massage treatments and swimming pool. In the afternoon enjoy a hike around the desert oasis of Ein Gedi including stopping to swim in the natural pools and waterfalls.

Overnight: Dead Sea

Tuesday 7 : Eilat
Check out of hotel and drive down towards Eilat. Stop for a hike at Ein Avdat on the way.
Arrive in Eilat and check into hotel, Dive in the red sea  .

Day 8 : Petra
Cross the border in Aqaba
Meet Jordanian tour guide and travel to Petra (approximately a two hour drive) http://www.petrapark.com/
You will escorted into Petra through the Siq (narrow passageway) and shown the highlights of the Nabatean city. You will enter the city and be rewarded with the most astonishing and dramatic monument in Jordan: the Treasury. You will also visit the theatre, the tombs and facades and the colonnaded street.
